UNC Autism Research Center
The mission of the UNC Autism Research Center is to accelerate autism research and discovery that will lead to the development of personalized treatments that improve the quality of life of autistic individuals across the lifespan. This virtual center seeks to
- Create opportunities for UNC autism research faculty to connect with their colleagues from research areas separate from their own
- Provide funding for interdisciplinary autism studies through pilot grant funding
- Work with UNC colleagues to expand funding opportunities for autism research at UNC
Awarding pilot grants for new and previously unfunded interdisciplinary research projects is a key mandate of the center. By funding interdisciplinary research, the center aims to stimulate interdisciplinary partnerships among UNC faculty and support them in generating pilot data for use in larger grants to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and other external agencies.
By making a gift on GiveUNC, you can impact the lives of children and adults with autism by funding innovative and potentially groundbreaking autism research at UNC-Chapel Hill.
Healthcare providers are constantly making a huge impact in our community and beyond, but even more so during the past two years of the pandemic. They have been working nonstop to care for us, so let’s show that we care for them!
Please consider making a gift in honor of an important healthcare provider in your life, and when you do, make sure to leave a note sharing why you chose to honor them.
