University Libraries

Jump To

A great library is the cornerstone of a great university. At Carolina’s libraries, students find spaces where they can be productive and comfortable. Library staff curate materials, teach classes and workshops, and advance research in every discipline. Libraries keep Carolina affordable by employing nearly 200 students and providing free access to course reserves, digital journal subscriptions, multimedia equipment, and more.

Your investment in the University Libraries is an investment in every Tar Heel. With your support, we can continue to make Carolina one of the best places in the nation to achieve an education.

Working for UNC libraries has provided me with critical work experience and mentorship opportunities. I love serving as a bridge for my peers to learn about the resources and unique spaces that the libraries provide.

The Wilson Library Fellowships program offers research awards to help students, faculty, and scholars access world-class special collections and expert staff. Wilson Library Fellows produce scholarly or artistic work that advances new understandings of history and culture. Gifts to the fellowships will be DOUBLED thanks to a generous matching grant from the Kenan Charitable Trust and will help make the fellowships a permanent program of the University Libraries.
