The Lampe Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering provides education and training that equips our students and alumni with the skills to positively impact the delivery of healthcare. Through technology development, research, and internships, our students discover and propel medical care advances to improve patient health outcomes.
From a student’s final design project to post-graduation career accomplishments, Lampe Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering graduates lead our mission of uniting engineering and medicine to improve lives. Students graduate from our program with experience identifying patient and clinician needs, applying engineering fundamentals to develop fresh approaches, and tangibly implementing their design ideas.
At the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the 21st Century Fund provides support that directly subsidizes student activities, such as student participation in professional conferences, where they learn how to communicate and promote their research. This fund also provides opportunities to attend biomedical engineering competitions, which may further fund or promote student innovations. Support to the 21st Century Fund also supports faculty in developing custom educational programs for our students in biomedical engineering.
From ideation to implementation, our students work industriously to make advances within the medical system. This GiveUNC, we hope you’ll consider contributing to the 21st Century Fund to help support the next generation of biomedical engineers.
