At the Carolina Hunger Initiative, our mission is to increase access to healthy food year-round for North Carolinians. Our work includes reaching kids through school-based programs that impact student academics, behavior, attendance, and health.
Our recent work includes:
- Partnering with the Office of the Governor to distribute grants to schools for innovations in healthy breakfast.
- Teaching nutrition and cooking classes for 3rd to 5th graders.
- Promoting new ways to serve summer meal programs for kids that increase access in rural counties.
- Co-leading the statewide School Meals for All NC coalition.
Thank you for helping to sustain our work. Your support means we can continue creating a future where no child goes hungry in our state.
