Keeping Traditions Alive. Sharing Stories. Preserving Memories.
At Carolina, our traditions are more than rituals — they’re the stories that connect generations of Tar Heels. From taking your first sip at the Old Well on the first day of class to climbing the Bell Tower as a senior, these moments become part of the shared Carolina experience. Every year, new graduates high-five the 50th reunion grads at Commencement. Alumni and friends gather for Heels House, our spirited football pregame celebration at the George Watts Hill Alumni Center, while students can start their mornings at Welcome Wednesdays, swinging by for a bagel and coffee.
As alumni, we are the memory keepers. Through our programs, events and networks, we celebrate these traditions, honor the stories that shape our community and ensure the Tar Heel spirit continues to thrive, wherever life takes you.
Carolina Alumni initiatives support 32,000 students and 371,000 alumni and friends of the University, creating a vibrant, living connection across generations. Driven by alumni and independent of University funding, we are committed to keeping the Carolina connection strong, honoring the past and passing the torch so future Tar Heels can carry on the traditions.
Your support helps us preserve these cherished moments, create new experiences for students and alumni, and ensure the Tar Heel spirit thrives for generations to come. Give to Carolina Alumni on March 26 and be part of the story.
