For 95 years, the UNC School of Government has worked to improve the lives of North Carolinians through practical teaching, applied research, and public service.
Our faculty provides essential training and expertise to state and local government officials through courses, advising, and publications. Last year, the School offered 271 courses supporting leaders as they addressed North Carolina’s most pressing challenges, responded to nearly 10,000 advising requests from officials across the state, and published more than 50 books, manuals, reports, and articles. Our faculty-authored blogs also reached local leaders more than 2 million times, delivering timely, trusted guidance.
In addition, our nationally ranked Master of Public Administration program prepares the next generation of public service leaders. UNC MPA faculty and staff work closely with on-campus and online students who are committed to strengthening their communities. The program boasts a 95% career outcome rate within six months of graduation.
