About Us
The Carolina College Advising Corps helps low-income, first-generation and underrepresented students find their way to colleges that will serve them well. By providing well-trained, enthusiastic advisers who have encountered similar circumstances to the students they serve, the program aims to increase college enrollment rates at partner high schools across North Carolina.
College advisers are placed in high schools and are immersed into the school setting where they work closely with counseling staff and students both in one-on-one and group settings. The advisers do not exclusively recruit for UNC-Chapel Hill, but instead take the students to a variety of institutions for campus tours to help them find their “best fit,” wherever that may be.
