The Carolina College Advising Corps supports low-income, first‑generation, and underrepresented students as they explore their options for life after high school. By providing well‑trained, enthusiastic advisers who share similar backgrounds with the students they serve, the program ensures young people across North Carolina receive the guidance they need to pursue the pathways that fit them best.
Advisers are placed full-time in high schools across the state and become immersed in the school community. They help students explore careers, navigate financial processes like the FAFSA, understand education and training options, and access opportunities such as campus visits and workforce programs. As near-peer mentors, advisers empower students to chart confident, informed paths toward college, careers, or military service.
