The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) Center works to foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for UNC-Chapel Hill community members of all sexual orientations, gender identities and gender expressions. We address this mission by allocating resources across three broad areas:
- Educational Programs
- Direct Support and Advocacy
- Community Events
Programs, services, and advocacy efforts are guided by an intersectional social justice framework. This framework recognizes that people experience the world in different ways depending on the constellation of identities they hold and the ways those identities are privileged and marginalized by existing institutional structures.
