The University Office for Diversity and Inclusion (UODI) at UNC-Chapel Hill aspires to have all community members feel respected, valued and visible with the ability to thrive.   

Our mission for diversity, equity and inclusion is to celebrate all members of the Carolina community, to broaden our collective understanding and to foster a sense of belonging by uplifting diverse identities, cultures, experiences and perspectives. To help create and sustain a diverse, inclusive and welcoming environment for all students, faculty, staff and alumni.   

At Carolina, we believe a diversity of thoughts and voices make us stronger. From providing DEIB services and advocacy efforts to supporting programs, educational opportunities and events that celebrate diversity and foster critical conversations – we are committed to building a more inclusive Carolina community.

We address this mission by allocating resources across programs and initiatives in the following areas:
