The Spirit of ’72 Lives On
Last year, the class of 1972 celebrated it’s 50th anniversary. Classmates that planned the spring reunion worked on a gift initiative to ensure the spirit of ’72 will endure at Carolina.
To that end, the group established two new funds to support a diverse, new generation of UNC students and the University’s mission: Lux, Libertas—Light and Liberty.
The Class of 1972’s Legacy
The Class of ’72 Diversity Fund
is dedicated to increasing student and faculty diversity and supporting diversity in student leadership. This fund will be administered through the Build Our Community Together Fund with input from our class representatives
The Spirit of ‘72 Scholarship Fund
will assist low-income students from underrepresented groups who would not otherwise be able to attend UNC. The scholarship will be administered by the Office of Scholarships and Student Aid with input from our class representatives.
